Holography with Heart

Innovation that Protects the Planet

Sustainability

At IOWIT, we redefine holography with a commitment to the planet. Unlike many in the industry, we avoid plastics and harmful chemicals in our manufacturing, crafting innovative holographic solutions that prioritize the environment. By choosing IOWIT, you choose a future with reduced carbon emissions and a sustainable approach to high-quality holography.

Waste Reduction

We’re committed to reducing our reliance on virgin plastic, and do so by integrating more recycled materials into our processes. We have also re-engineered our manufacturing to minimize overall polymer use.

Our facilities are equipped with advanced recycling technologies that turn plastic waste into reusable granules, ensuring that waste finds new purpose. With our RELAM 250 recycling machine, we efficiently recycle multi-layer packaging and recover high-quality granules, despite the challenges of handling different polymer layers.

Additionally, we collect, shred, and safely incinerate residual plastic waste, generating heat that powers our production facilities. Our investments in larger deckle sizes further enhance production efficiency, enabling us to cut CO₂ emissions by approximately 0.0162 tons per ton each year.

Eco-Friendly Material Alternatives

We continuously seek sustainable alternatives, replacing non-eco-friendly components with environmentally responsible materials. We’re actively working to reduce polymer gauge wherever possible, while incorporating up to 90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) films in place of virgin materials.

These PCR films, made with up to 100% PET content, offer excellent barrier properties and heat-seal capabilities, paving the way for closed-loop recycling solutions. Additionally, we’ve transitioned to compressed natural gas for heating to further reduce our environmental footprint.

Biodegradation

Our biodegradable packaging solutions are designed to decompose efficiently, whether in commercial or home composting systems. Our advanced Flexzyme technology incorporates a unique biopolymer and enzymatic solution that encourages bacteria to break down the plastic without harsh chemicals.

This process enables microorganisms to form a biofilm on the plastic, making it hydrophilic, brittle, and susceptible to de-polymerization. The broken-down elements act as a source of carbon and energy for soil bacteria, promoting a continuous biodegradation process until the material is completely assimilated into the environment.
